The country of Burma is currently in the longest running civil war spanning over 70 years, as a result of the ongoing conflict there is a great humanitarian need. Upon learning of the war and the work of Free Burma Rangers I felt an invitation to leave our life in Texas and move our family to southeast Asia so we could be directly involved in bringing aid to hurting and oppressed people as a means of living out our faith in Jesus.
Our family is in the early steps of this journey and are praying for God’s guidance as we go forward. We are encouraged by the words of James, a disciple of Jesus “Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food, If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
